Following Soviet intrusion of Poland on onset of World War II in accordance with the Nazi-Soviet Pact against Poland, the Soviet Union acquired over half of the region from the 2nd gloss Republic.

Launched in August 1941 from Moscow’s infamous Lubyanka jail, Polish common Wladyslaw Anders began to mobilize the shine Armed Forces in the East (often called the Anders Army) to fight against the Nazis.
