We’re on the hunt for two Junior Journalist apprentices

Love cars? Check. Love writing? Check. Love cheques? Check.

Then you’re in luck as Baize Group, publishers of Car Dealer Magazine and SuperUnleaded.com, is giving young, aspiring writers the chance to have all three.

We are on the hunt for two Junior Journalist apprentices – aged 17 or 18 – to join our growing automotive media firm on the sunny south coast.

Over 18 months, from this September, you will work towards gaining the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, which has been developed by the National Council for the Training of Journalists.

For four days of the week you will be based at Baize Group in Gosport and one day will be spent in lessons at nearby Highbury College in Portsmouth, a centre of excellence in journalism training.

What do you get in return? A salary, the chance to work in a fast-growing company and an industry-recognised qualification which will lead to a career in journalism.

What do you need?

  • You are probably fresh out of college, having just completed your A Levels, BTEC, or similar qualification.
  • You will have 5 A*-C GCSE grades, including English and Maths.
  • You will have a burning passion for everything automotive and the hunger and desire to be a top automotive journalist.

How do you apply?

Easy. Simply send an email to james@blackballmedia.co.uk explaining why you should be considered for these apprenticeships with a copy of your CV. We get lots of emails so make sure yours stands out, and not because you’ve addressed it to Jason Bargort.

In your covering letter we also want to know what your favourite movie car is of all time and why, and if you had £100,000 what one car you’d buy to last you for the rest of your life. Tough.

Applications close on August 12, but we’d suggest getting in early…
