Do you ever find yourself watching Fast and Furious and think ‘I can do that’? and by ‘that’ we don’t mean drifting around the streets of LA being chased by police with a beautiful brunette in the passenger seat. We already have one of those.
By ‘that’ we actually mean, taking a bunch of video clips and stitching them together with well chosen music to make an interesting and engaging story that will wow YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, as well as making our long list of motoring clients very happy.
Now we can’t promise you’ll be cutting together clips of Vin Diesel or Dwayne Johnson, but who needs that when you’re editing video content for some of the world’s biggest car manufacturers, not to mention some of the UK’s biggest motoring magazines. So, it helps if you know your Ford Focus from your pull focus.
Although the OnCue video department is only three years old, it’s got nearly 20 years of experience in the motoring industry and has worked on a variety of video jobs including filming Boris Johnson getting lost in a Mitsubishi around Tokyo, throwing Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards out of a plane, filming a giant sports car test with over £1.5m of performance cars as well as filming new cars in Germany, Italy, Spain, Croatia and Finland.
OnCue is on the hunt for a talented video editor to join our growing video department. You’ll be a Mac whizz with a strong grasp of Final Cut X and have a good understanding of Adobe After Effects and Motion as well as showing a good level of data management and attention to detail.
There’s no such thing as a typical day for the video team. One day they’ll be shooting a supercar hurtling around a Formula 1 track in Belgium, the next filming a Kia Picanto in the New Forest, with a mix of presenter led videos inbetween. While the quality of the end product will be to a high level, there’s also a mix of audience we produce content for, from new car buyers, to motoring enthusiasts all the way up to industry leaders.
So while the position is largely office-based in what’s been dubbed the ‘Monaco of the UK’, it’s not called glamorous Gosport for nothing, there will be opportunities to travel around the world with the video department on a variety of shoots.
A successful candidate will need to have the following:
Experience using Final Cut X
Experience using Adobe After Effects
Experience using Motion
Must be organised and reliable
Experience of data management
And bonus points for having:
A full driving licence
A passion for cars
Experience of filming
If you think you’ve got what it takes to impress then send a CV, covering email, and link to your showreel or examples of previous work to email@example.com
